What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a chronic brain disease that causes seizures, which are abnormal electrical discharges in the brain that can impact how the brain works.
Definition: Epilepsy is defined as having two or more unprovoked seizures.
Symptoms: Seizures can range from brief lapses of attention to severe convulsions, and can involve part or all of the body. Other symptoms include loss of consciousness, difficulty controlling the bladder or bowels, and an aura that can include a sudden emotion, smell, taste, or feeling of déjà vu.
